Beaver Creek Rodeo

The Beaver Creek Rodeo Series has kicked off for the summer season. Tursday Nights at Traer Creek.

Located behind Chapel Square in Avon with free shuttle service from the covered bridge in Beaver Creek village.
Gates open at 5:00pm, Rodeo events begin at 6:00pm
Tickets:
Tickets are for General Admission and may be purchased at the Beaver Creek Information Center up to 3:00pm on the day of the rodeo, or at the rodeo beginning at 5:00pm.
Tickets must be purchased in person (no telephone or mail order) except for groups of 20 or more who can order advance tickets through Beaver Creek Group Sales (telephone (866) 395-3185) no later than one week before the rodeo the group wishes to attend.
Please note that the rodeo takes place rain or shine and tickets are therefore non-refundable. Tickets are not dated other than the year and dates of the series so a ticket is good for any rodeo held during the summer.

Adults (18-64 yrs.) $15
Youth (13-17 yrs.) $5
Children 12 yrs. + under are FREE!

Kids sign up for Mutton Bustin and Calf Scramble each Thursday night once the Rodeo gates open.
If you are a cowboy interested in competing in the Beaver Creek Rodeo, please call Jodi (Tuesdays prior to the event you wish to enter) between 7:00 & 9:00pm at (970) 376-0817. There are no requirements to enter however events fill up so call as early as possible.

Description of Events
Bareback Bronc Riding- To win this event, the cowboy must hang on to the bucking bronco with just one hand, and endure 8 long seconds of whiplash, whirling, and twirling.Calf Scramble Kids, now it’s your turn - The first five buckaroos to capture ribbons from the tails of a group of friendly calves win prizes!Team Roping- Two cowboys, a header and a heeler, work together to catch a steer as fast as possible, earning points for their skill and speed.Mutton Bustin’- The youngest cowboys and cowgirls show their stuff in this Rodeo favorite. The buckaroo who holds on to his or her wild-n-wooly sheep the longest brings home a trophy!Barrel Racing- Elegant riding and precise timing are the keys to winning this intense competition which consists of sprinting into the arena and tightly turning around three barrels.Burro Racing- For Moms and Dads - create teams of 3 to test your donkey handling and riding abilities!
Bull Riding- In this dangerous Rodeo event, bull riders must overcome 2000 lbs of angry animal angst for 8 exciting seconds.

ADVENTURE RIDGE ACTIVITIES
Guided Nature Hikes: $5 per person
Take off on a guided nature hike on Vail Mountain and learn about the flora and fauna from our guides. Daily hikes are offered through a cooperative program with the Gore Range Natural Science School and Vail Resorts.Dino Dig: $3 per person
Children will love this interactive learning experience. Little ones, age 4 years and up, dig through sand to uncover dinosaur bones and learn about these prehistoric creatures through an educational display. Digging “tools” and a map are provided.
Orienteering Map & Compass Course:
Come and challenge yourself at 10,000 feet on our mountaintop orienteering course. Take in spectacular views of the Sawatch and Gore Mountain Ranges while testing your skills with a map and compass. Courses range in ability levels from beginner to advanced. Basic instruction is provided.
Indoor Laser Tag: $10 per person
Experience the excitement and thrills of laser tag at 10,000 feet. Come with a team or come alone and join the fun. This indoor facility is located at Adventure Ridge and can accommodate up to 15 people per session.
Disc Golf: $8 per disc rental
A self-guided, nine-hole disc golf course. A great activity for a small group.
Lawn Sports: FREE
Try your hand at volleyball, horseshoes and bocci.Discovery Center
The Discovery Center is located at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola. Stop by and learn about the environment through fun, interactive displays or join us for our morning or afternoon guided nature hikes. The Center is a cooperative arrangement among Vail Resorts, the Gore Range Natural Science School, and the U.S. Forest Service. To customize an environmental program for your group or for more information about our guided hikes please call (970)479-4675.
Mountain Biking Tours/Clinics:
Ideal for individuals looking for a mountain adventure. Our half-day workshops and tours can accommodate the novice or challenge the expert cyclist. Reservations are required at least 24 hours prior to start through The Activities Desk, (970)476-9090. Walk-in guests may be accommodated at Adventure Ridge.
Rebound Trampoline: TBD
Try out our bouncing bungee harnessed trampoline at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola.
Mini-Golf
Located at the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola, a round of miniature golf is a great activity for kids of all ages as well as the whole family.

Vail - American Ski Classic

This week in Vail is the American Ski Classic, March 26-30. Skiing legends, entertainment celebrities and corporate America join together on the slopes of Vail Mountain during the American Ski Classic. This event combines the thrill of both professional and amateur ski racing with an array of entertainment options for fans of all ages. The American Ski Classic is the oldest and largest skiing competition and festival of its kind in North America. The event culminates with a charitable gala dinner and auction.
